Ethiopia ranks high in the list of least expensive countries we have visited so far. We were able to spend six times longer than anticipated and only spend 35% more than we had budgeted for the country. The budgeted flight we had was from Cairo to Addis Ababa, but since we changed the direction of our Africa journey we flew a shorter distance from Nairobi to Addis Ababa, which may have contributed to the lower cost of our flight. We were also off on the cost of the visa, which allowed us to spend some extra money in the country.
