Below are our expenses and how they compared to our budget (in USD):
Cost of Transportation: $246 versus Budgeted: $200
Cost of Visa: $29 versus Budgeted: $60
Cost per day: $81 versus Budgeted: $51
Jordan was surprisingly more expensive than anticipated and their currency was valued more than the US dollar. We did save on the visa because we entered via ferry from Egypt, which has visa-free agreement, but they got us on the exit tax when leaving the country. The majority of the transportation costs were on the fee for ferry from Egypt. We were in the country the number of days we had planned and only paid a few nights of accommodation, but despite this we went 37% over budget for Jordan.
