It seems like our decision to buy transportation ahead of time versus purchasing a Euro pass continues to pay off in Europe. We had originally budgeted to purchase a pass and we continue to spend less than what we have budgeted. In the Netherlands, we were also able to save on our daily expenses, because we were fortunate to have friends that let us stay at their place even though they were not going to be there!! They also let us borrow a museum card that included free entry to many museums, which additionally helped in our costs per day. We were able to save a total of 49% of our overall budgeted amount for this country.
