We visited Prague for 3 days staring August 7, 2014. This city is a gem of baroque and rococo architecture with cobblestone roads very well preserved throughout. The Czech Republic is known as the biggest beer drinking country per capita in the world and “when in Rome do as the Romans!” During our day in Prague, we were devoted to beer tasting and lost count of how many different brands we enjoyed; they were all so good!
Prague is a beautiful city where we wondered around its ancient streets and bridges after feeling pleased and satisfied with a local meal. We love the colors and buildings with their feeling from a past we never got to live. For us, the down side during our visit were the high number of tourists like us, the many stores taking over the first level of all buildings, and the McDonald’s all over town stealing its natural charm and history. It felt at times too commercial and much less than a real city where people live.
Below are other great things we enjoyed about Czech Republic:
Food and Drinks
Boiled Beef Neck with Mushroom Sauce
Beef Cheek Goulash
Steamed Cabbage
Pilsner Urquell Beer
Gambrinus Beer
Budweiser Beer (not from the USA)
Fenix Beer
Krusovice Beer
Kozel Beer
