Below are our expenses and how they compared to our budget (in USD):
Cost of Transportation: $85 versus Budgeted: $100
Cost of Visa: $70 versus Budgeted: $70
Cost per day: $31 versus Budgeted: $31
Although we came within budget on all the itemized costs above, we spent twice as much time as anticipated and went over budget by about 40%. We did feel that Laos was more expensive than neighboring Thailand.
