Expenses
Below are our expenses and how they compared to our budget (in USD):
Cost of Transportation: $139 versus Budgeted: $0
Cost per day: $33 versus Budgeted: $0
Thus far, Malawi has been the least expensive country in Africa, but despite this, it was not on our original budget and the expenses will contribute to the overall deficit of the trip. We decided to go to this country because of the magnificent pictures we saw of the lake as well as several recommendations from other travelers. The extra expenses were well worth it, since it has possibly been one of our favorite countries in Africa and possibly the trip.
