We went over budget on our transportation expenses due to our decision to take a private vehicle to Malaga to visit Sal’s cousin, which turned out to be expensive. The expense was well worth the trip. We were able to compensate the transportation expenses with our daily expenses since the majority of time in the country we were with family, therefore did not pay for accommodation and sometimes even food. Despite being in the country more days than anticipated, the daily expenses helped us save 5% of the overall country budget.
