Southern Islands of Thailand

We traveled for eight days around the south of Thailand, visiting Ko Muk, Ko Kradan, and Ko Tao Islands.

Ko Muk is a beautiful paradise of white sand beaches and turquoise waters in the Andaman Ocean of Thailand. This destination is peaceful thanks to the low number of tourists who visit it. The island has different beaches accessible by foot. A solitude swim in Hau Laem Prao beach while enjoying the view of other islands with spectacular rock formations was a precious gift we struggled to leave behind.

In Ko Muk Island, we took a boat trip to the epic Emerald Cave. Exploring this amazing natural creation is a mythical mix of mystery and adventure. After swimming through the cave you will find the light of this secluded beach, whom many claim was the best secret location for pirates to hide treasures. Once inside this beach, the silent echo of the place transports your mind to multiple scenarios and stories where anything is possible.

On the same boat trip, we also visited Ko Kradan Island, a perfect snorkeling spot. Just a jump from the boat, and we discovered thousands of curious and colorful fishes ready to join us on the excursion.

While making our way back north, we visited Ko Tao Island, the number one scuba diving destination in the Gulf of Thailand. We dove the Red Rock, Japanese Gardens, and Twin Rocks sites where we fell in love with the coral silhouettes, caves, and the huge variety of fishes swimming in multiple directions. These tropical waters are full of life and movement.

In Ko Tao Island, we also took a 10 Km round trip hike to Tanote Bay. Dipping ourselves in the calm ocean waters of this precious beach was a perfect break in between the steep walk.

After over four months on the road, the southern islands of Thailand were definitely a perfect place to relax, play with the underwater camera, and recharge our batteries… the adventure continues šŸ˜‰
