Below are our expenses and how they compared to our budget (in USD):
Cost of Transportation: $91 versus Budgeted: $300
Cost of Visa: $100 versus Budgeted: $100
Cost per day: $87 versus Budgeted: $56
Similar to Zimbabwe, Zambia is also a relatively expensive country, slightly more so than Zimbabwe. We have been fortunate that the visa costs have not changed since our time of research. The savings in transportation allowed us to splurge in an expensive white water rafting adventure, which is the reason for the being over budget on our cost per day. Despite our savings, the splurge made us break even in the overall budget.
