Australia is home to the biggest coral reef in the world and it is the reason of attraction to many tourist from all destinations. Since May 2010, when we got our scuba diving certification in Belize, Australia was on our list to do.
After traveling 31 hours in train from Brisbane, we arrived to Cairns and stayed there for three days with the purpose of diving in the great barrier reef. It took us an entire day to book our trip after shopping around many scuba diving companies. The market and packages for snorkeling and diving tours at the barrier reef is huge and expensive.
On November 28, 2012 we completed three dives in the Hasting Reef, Great Barrier Reef. It has been a year since our last dive and we were both nervous and excited. A few minutes into our first dive and the fear was gone, we were like fish in the water. The temperature (27 C or 81 F) and visibility (15 m or 49 ft) were simply perfect. We were floating surrounded by a beautiful world as if gravity didn’t exist. There were many different shapes, colors, and forms of lives dancing in front of our eyes. We got so see many fish, coral, a sea turtle, and a sting ray. The happiness and joy of scuba diving is indescribable, to really understand it, you have to live it!
This is the first time we have been able to take pictures and videos of our diving experience, we hope you enjoy them š
