Below are our expenses and how they compared to our budget (in USD):
Cost of Transportation: $169 versus Budgeted: $200

Bolivia has been one of the least expensive countries we have traveled in. Despite this, the visa fees are one of the most expensive ones. Although we did account for these visa fees, we should have been able to spend less using our Latin American passports. Unfortunately, the Bolivian immigration gave us a lot of problems in trying to change from our U.S. passports to our Latin American passports which led to spending more than we had hoped for. We were able to save in transportation and in our daily expenses, but our tour to Uyuni, which accounted for 17% of our country expenses, and the fact that we stayed almost twice as long as anticipated made us go over budget by 41% in the overall country budget.
